Walter Voit, PhD
CEO – Dr. Walter Voit, PhD is a Dallas-based serial entrepreneur and the former SVP for Polymer Materials at Desktop Metal, which acquired his startup company, Adaptive3D for $65M in 2021. Voit was named a Top 100 Innovator by Dallas Innovates in 2022, was elected to the National Academy of Inventors in 2023 and became the Dallas Tech Titan Inventor of the year in 2023.
Dr. Voit received tenure from UT Dallas in the Materials Science and Engineering Department in 2017. At UT Dallas, Prof. Voit built and managed the Advanced Polymer Research Lab, the Center for Engineering Innovation, and created the Polycraft World gamified learning platform.
Walter is on the Executive Committee and the Science and Technology Chair of the Council on Ionizing Radiation Measurements and Standards through the National Institute of Standards and Technology and an International Atomic Energy Agency consultant in the field of radiation crosslinked shape memory polymers.
Walter is a DARPA Young Faculty Awardee and DARPA Director’s Fellow who received a B.S. in Computer Science in 2005 as a Eugene McDermott Scholar at UT Dallas and a Masters in Artificial Intelligence from UT Dallas as an Erik Jonsson Fellow in 2006. Walter earned his PhD in 2009 as a Presidential Scholar at Georgia Tech.
